Audio in all honesty is kicking my ass. I’m super interested in audio and find it fascinating, however as I have continued to work with it this week I have realized it is not something that I am naturally strong in by any means. As with a lot of different free programs Audacity is not the most user friendly software. I had a very difficult time uploading my finished audio clip to anything. SoundCloud wouldn’t let me upload the clip because it caught the Copyright of the song and then when I tried to directly upload the audio clip to WordPress I received an error message and it wouldn’t allow me to upload it. Because of all those obstacles I decided that the easiest way to embed the audio in my blog would be to just upload it to Youtube and then embed it into this post.
I labeled the song 1996 because that was the year it came out. I have quite the affinity for late 90s alternative. I feel like everyone should be able to guess this song, especially if you had older siblings.
To Start I imported the mp3 into Audacity.
I then Clicked on the drop down menu circle in this photograph and clicked split the stereo track
I then clicked on the top track and then went to the effect menu (circled here) and clicked inverse
I then trimmed down the audio to 30 second by selecting the portion I wanted and then used ctrl-t to trim everything else that wasn’t selected.
After the top track was trimmed I changed both audio to tracks to mono in the drop down menu circled.
Finally I exported the audio to my desktop. When using SoundCloud or importing straight onto WordPress didn’t work I used an online movie maker Kizoa.
I uploaded all of the screenshots of my process to run as a slideshow
I went to music and then to my music at the bottom left and uploaded my mp3 clips
I then put the photos in order by putting them in the slides at the bottom
I then clicked the save button
I decided to just have the software upload the video to Youtube rather than downloading it and then re-uploading it to YouTube.
I then embedded the Youtube Video into this post.
